About us

Panchavati Butterfly Park is a unique “biological diversity site” located along the core area of Kali Tiger Reserve. The Park attracts butterflies and moths in good numbers.

A perennial stream that flows along the Park makes it a perfect habitat for butterflies, moths, frogs, spiders, dragonflies and other insects. With a unique diversity of host plants and fruiting trees the Park is also home for several endemic birds from the Western Ghats.

A good mix of host and nectar yielding plants are in place to habitat these winged beauties. Close to 100 butterfly varieties have been recorded in and around Panchavati.

The Park is being developed by a group of nature loving friends under the expertise from the Karnataka Forest Department and butterfly researchers from Karnataka, Maharashtra and Goa states.

The Park is located 35 km from Dandeli City and 10 km from Kumbarwada Village.
